You’ll know from my wedding cake post that I loved a wedding cake trial but also struggled to find the perfect person to make ours, that was until I met Kate. This woman is incredible, her ability to go above and beyond and really make you feel special is inspirational. I know you’re probably thinking “how can a cake maker be that good?”, well I could tell you everything but that would ruin some of the surprises when you
book her. Instead I’ll let you in on three reasons why The Little Button Bakery is the only cake maker you need
The Cake Tasting
This was the moment when I realised that Kate was my kind of woman. We arrived at her house in Marple early one Saturday morning, when we entered her studio we were greeted with our names and wedding date on a lightbox (it’s all about the little details). Whilst design was an element of our consultation, the focus was definitely on the tasting. The tasting Kate offers is special, you get 4 different cakes to try and then an array of buttercreams and ganaches, meaning that you effectively get to build your own flavour – I know, amazing right? The only problem is narrowing down the options because they are all so delicious.
Kate’s cakes are not your average wedding cake, she loves doing something a little different and that’s what we had. We went for a large round bottom tier where the icing was made up of white hexagons, we then had a hexagon tier which had gorgeous gold and blush textures on it, followed by a super tall tier with our names hand painted on in the same font as our wedding stationery. The cherry on top was the very top tier with a gorgeous gold hoop with real flowers on it. If you’re up for taking a chance on her ideas then you will benefit from a super bespoke cake that literally has your names written all over it.
Cakes aside, Kate is just one hell of a woman. Yes, other people may offer great service too but Kate goes above and beyond, I don’t even think this is something she plans, it’s just something that is part of her personality. She oozes warmth and she genuinely cares about couples and their big day, especially in the last few weeks before hand.
If you want an effortlessly stylish (and delicious) cake made my a woman that you’ll want to be best friends with by the end of your wedding then I strongly recommend you give Kate a call.
Oh, and one final tip, try the salted caramel macaroons!
