The Liverpool Wedding Show

The Liverpool Wedding Show

Today I went to the Liverpool Wedding Show with my Mum and Sister. I’m a bit pessimistic about wedding shows as whilst I love to be caught up in the Bridal bubble, I often feel that they are a bit over crowded which makes it impossible to talk to the suppliers you want to. I’m not sure if it was the time of year but The Liverpool Wedding Show wasn’t like this at all, there was actually room to move and I didn’t feel like stripping naked because of the heat.

There were over 100 exhibitors doing their thing/trying to sell you everything but I didn’t experience any who were too pushy and was able to quickly find those I had pinpointed to talk to. In my opinion the exhibitors at days like this aren’t always the best but it’s good to see what’s available. The best thing about speaking to exhibitors at shows is that they  sometimes offer show discounts, one of our caterers even gave me a 15% off voucher which was a win for me!

I was most looking forward to the catwalk show and it didn’t disappoint, apart from the gorgeous dresses and models (the men look way too good in their suits!) the catwalk was brought to life with music from Six15 (more on them later) and Gospel Choir 4 Weddings (also more on them). It lasted about 20 minutes and we managed to get a seat which was great as we’d just bought a pizza to snaffle whilst we watched!

I also really wanted to watch a set by Six15, they’d been on my radar for a while as an alternative to a DJ and band but I was a bit put off by their house-centric website as house music really isn’t our scene. I was hoping that I wouldn’t fall in love as they are a tad on the pricey side but my god, they were fantastic and from what I saw they are well worth the money! There’s a DJ who plays all the songs you love whilst a percussionist and a saxophonist get the crowd going by playing along to the music, the performers are fab and look genuinely happy to be dancing amongst the audience whilst they play. Have a look at how unique and talented they are for yourself…

The Gospel Choir that performed at the catwalk show literally sent shivers down my spine and are now on my wish list for performers during our civil ceremony. Not only were they fantastic entertainers but they were lovely people too which makes all the difference when they are going to be part of your special day. They also performed in the Palm Sugar Lounge later on in the day, here’s a clip from their version of ‘Happy’…

I also found a really nice magic mirror, photo booth company whose pictures were much better than others I’d seen. This might be because they use a beauty lamp so everyone looks extra gorgeous. They were really well priced too which was a bonus, just £395 for a basic package. Here’s the pic I had with my gorgeous family…

The next show I’m off to is at Tatton Park on the 5th Feb so look out for my highlights from that one.
