Last weekend was my hen weekend and I have only just recovered from the hen do blues which will no doubt return as I write this post. It was a mammoth weekend of celebrations with 17 girls in one house and to top it off it was also my birthday and the Royal Wedding!
I handed over the hen do planing to my sister (and the bridesmaids) and as a control freak who battles anxiety, I really struggled with this for the first few months. I worried about so many things like; where it was going to be, what the activities would be and if everyone would get on. All of these things were out of my control and once I realised that, I felt much better about everything and that would be my advice to any other brides who are panicking about their hen.
I’m not entirely sure why I was so nervous, especially now I’ve been on what was the most incredible hen weekend I could have dreamed of.
The surprises started way before the weekend when I was given some balloons with details of what to pack for the weekend and a lovely poem. Then on the morning of the hen I was given a survival kit complete with a veil, sash, sweets and proseccos for the journey.
As I knew nothing about the weekend I was blindfolded for the last ten minutes of the journey and then guided into the house, it was the perfect start to a perfect weekend.
From balloon installations, glitter stations and party bags to a sports day, drunken pool party, spa treatments and the Naked Chocolatier turning up (to name just a few) my sister and bridesmaids really did think of everything. The weekend was jam packed but had the perfect amount of time to sit around and chat rubbish with a glass of prosecco . I had the best weekend of my life, surrounded by all the woman who inspire me on a daily basis.
Here are some snaps of the weekend and if you fancy staying at this epic house in the Lake District then check it out here. I also managed to film some of the activities so if you want to get a feel for what happened or if you’re looking for hen inspo then watch this…
